ABOUT
SafeGround was formed in December 2025 after two years of careful planning and community reflection. Our mission is simple, yet deeply impactful: to provide consistent, year-round support to individuals and families experiencing homelessness in Robeson County. We serve the unhoused community by offering food, essential supplies, and compassionate support—meeting people where they are while restoring dignity and hope. Our long-term vision is to develop a permanent housing community that offers safe, stable shelter throughout the year.
In addition to serving the unhoused population, SafeGround is committed to empowering young women and men ages 15 and older. Through educational and career-focused support, we assist participants in obtaining a high school diploma or GED, building career-readiness skills, and accessing certifications and trade opportunities that lead to sustainable futures.
At SafeGround, we believe safety, stability, and opportunity should never be a privilege—they should be accessible to all.
